Akai - AP-103C Auto-Return Belt-Drive Stereo Turntable

Vinyl turntable, model Akai AP-103C, which is a cosmetic and technical variant extremely close to the famous AP-100 series. Marketed in the late 1970s, it shares an almost identical mechanical base, but features a few specifics unique to its suffix.

Fully automatic belt-driven model, manufactured in the late 1970s. Sought-after variant of the famous AP-100 series, it is distinguished by its robustness, reliable mechanics and timeless aesthetics.

Technical condition & Tests performed:
The turntable has been tested and is fully functional at the sound output level. The audio signal comes out properly.
Important note for the buyer: As this uses an original vintage magnetic cartridge, the output signal is deliberately low (standard for the era) and must imperatively be connected to a dedicated PHONO input on your amplifier, or go through an external Phono preamplifier (RIAA) to deliver its full power and dynamics.
The turntable is sold "as is" mechanically: although it operates, a servicing or light classic maintenance (lubrication of automatics, checking belt tension) could be considered by the future owner to optimize performance to 100%.

Cosmetic condition:
The unit is in good cosmetic condition for its age. The top chassis and the control panel are clean. The original clear protective cover is present, complete and functional with its hinges, showing only a few micro-scratches from normal use for a device of this age (see photos).
