Description from the seller

A refined and antique oval reliquary dating from the late 19th century.

The object is presented housed in a metal case, crafted with a thin, light layer of gilded brass, skillfully worked to give lightness while elegantly framing the sacred contents.

The front is closed by an ancient blown glass pane, inside which several relics are arranged, carefully identified by handwritten Latin labels:

In the center: S. Crucis N.D.J.C. (of the Holy Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ)
In the top: B.M. Virgo (of the Blessed Virgin Mary)
On the left: S. Matthaeus Ev. (Saint Matthew the Evangelist) and S. Marcus Ev. (Saint Mark the Evangelist)
On the right: S. Lucas Ev. (Saint Luke the Evangelist) and S. Johannes Ev. (Saint John the Evangelist)
At the bottom: S. Joseph sp. (Saint Joseph the espoused)

The back of the case is sealed with a red wax seal. The original cord and a small ring for suspension are still present.

The reliquary does not contain human remains.

This object is offered solely for its historical, cultural, or decorative value. No religious significance is claimed, implied, or supported. Over time, some elements of the reliquary may have been modified or restored.
