Description from the seller
DIALOGUE – Art book with poetic text and seven original graphic works
Refined art edition produced in Ancona in May 1993, Dialogue arises from the meeting between poetry and contemporary graphics and is curated by Giorgio Cutini, an important figure in Marche artistic and photographic research.
The volume contains an original poetic text by Alessandro Catà, Exclave, and seven original graphic works realized by Carlo Cecchi, Salvatore D'Addario, Giuliano Giuliani, Ciro Maddaluno, Bruno Mangiaterra, Giuseppe Mariani and Rocco Natale. The engravings are printed on fine Rosaspina Fabriano paper, with different techniques noted in the colophon, and constitute the visual nucleus of this particular publication.
The edition was produced with a star press in a very limited run. The copy here offered is no. 5/99, as indicated and numbered in the colophon. The format of the volume is about 18 × 25 cm, for a total of 14 pages, while the individual graphic works measure about 16.5 × 24 cm.
Dialogue thus belongs to the tradition of the Italian artist's book, where the book is not merely the support for the text, but becomes a composite work in which poetry, engraving, paper and printing work together to realize a single collectible object. The documentation dedicated to Giorgio Cutini expressly recalls the edition among his numbered editions and artist's portfolios.
The copy is kept in good condition and is offered with special attention to the preservation of the papers and engravings. Careful and protective packaging, appropriate to the nature of an artist's book and a graphic work.
