Antique Double Art Deco Secretary Inkstand with Dog Sculpture – Vintage (1930s)
A stunning and highly impactful collectible piece! This is a complete double desktop inkstand/office with blotter, original from the zenith of the Art Deco era (1930s), showcasing the geometric lines and animalistic styling so coveted of the time.
The set sits on a commanding, heavy base of polished black marble (or solid mirrored glass), with radiant fan-work on the central platform. On the sides, it features two functional inkwells with original white porcelain cups inside for the ink. The piece’s grandeur lies in the central brass/bronze sculpture of two stylized dogs in a running pose.
The lot includes all visible period accessories in the images: the matching half-moon blotter, a small central square container (bearing an authentic green patina on the interior from use) and a presentation box with a wooden pen holder, 5 nibs and a bottle of black ink. An exceptional decorative piece, perfect for high-end retro offices, libraries or collectors of Art Deco style.
