Early 20th century Maple & Co. sideboard in solid mahogany from the United Kingdom, 200 cm wide, 216 cm high and 70 cm deep, weighing 180 kg, in brown, with original features and two pieces.
Description from the seller
Important Maple & Co. sideboard (London & Paris), an authentic high-end English solid wood piece dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Made of precious solid mahogany, it preserves all its original elements in full: scalloped top with original beveled mirror, turned columns, refined raised carvings, period hardware, and the original badge of the renowned producer Maple & Co., one of the most prestigious British furniture manufacturers of the Victorian and Edwardian era.
The piece was personally purchased in London about forty years ago and has remained in the same private collection ever since. It is therefore not a recently market-entry item, but a piece with documented provenance and family history.
The craftsmanship quality is evident in every detail: handmade construction, elegant proportions, rich carved decoration, and superior finishes—characteristics that made Maple & Co. a supplier to the aristocracy and the European upper bourgeoisie.
The condition is very good for its age, with normal and light signs of time consistent with more than a century of life, which confirm its authenticity and charm.
An important, commanding piece destined for collectors, antique dealers, interior designers, or connoisseurs of genuine English furniture. Complete examples with original mirror, producer’s mark, and guaranteed provenance are increasingly difficult to find on the market.
