Gaumont Block-Notes con Krauss Tessar 72mm f/4.5, manufactured around 1910–1920, physically good and tested and operating.
Description from the seller
Here is a splendid, rare, and historically monumental vintage subminiature glass-plate camera: the Gaumont Block-Notes, produced in Paris in the very early 1910s.
The lot is presented in generally good vintage condition, mechanically functional, and is complete with its original optical block and the rear satin-finished metal auto-loading plate holder.
Optics: The lenses appear clean, structurally intact, and completely free of scratches or traces of internal mold or fungi; only a normal, widespread, light vintage patina is present, entirely typical for a piece of this age.
Mechanical: The lot is mechanically manual-functional. The ingenious and primitive guillotine shutter responds to commands, firing regularly when operated. The distinctive front rectangular optical viewfinder, hinged on the panel, opens correctly and is mobile. The release and telescopic extension of the bellows move smoothly until the end-of-travel click. The advancing mechanism and the rear plate loader selectors also respond to handling.
Aesthetics: Good general vintage condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid, robust alloy case, darkened in tone, retains a strong vintage look, displaying the classic signs of time, light opacities, and a magnificent historical patina from rubbing at the protruding points, which reveals hints of the underlying brass.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured, and professional ultra-protective packaging to ensure maximum safety during transport.
