Description from the seller
Antique majolica/barbotine oval bowl from the renowned Belgian Faïencerie de Nimy
(mark: Mouzin Lecat & Cie - Nimy lez Mons), dated between 1851 and 1898.
This was the factory's golden age, during which it produced high-quality pottery in pastel colours and organic relief structures.
The interlaced and diamond pattern in the iconic pastel green is a sought-after and typical 19th-century barbotine design. The stamp is very sharp and clearly legible (important for collectors).
There is a small area of damage (a chip/flaw in the glazel) visible at the edge, towards the bottom. A small sort of wear and tear, but does not detract from its historical charm.
