Manoscritto Cardinale Florentini, an original Latin manuscript by Pietro Donato dating to 1427, single-page binding, 32 cm high by 21.5 cm wide, in very good condition and unsigned.
Description from the seller
It is an original manuscript in Latin, likely dating from the Renaissance or the early modern period (16th–17th century). It is a funeral oration (Oratio funebris). The title on the top of the first page reads: "D. [Decii] Floridini [...] Oratio in funere sacrae memoriae [...] Cardinalis..." The author delivers a commemorative laudation in honor of a high prelate (a cardinal), celebrating his virtues, erudition, piety, and human qualities. Mentioned are studies, humanism, moral strength, and the conduct of the illustrious deceased.
