A vintage of excellent quality but with small volumes. Marked by scarcity, the harvests were early and yields low. At tasting, the intensity, aromatic complexity, structure and freshness perform without fault.

A terrific effort from the team at La Gardine, the Châteauneuf du Pape cuvée des Générations boasts incredible aromas of allspice and mulberries. It's a blend of 1/3 Grenache, 1/3 Syrah and 1/3 Mourvèdre matured in new barriques, but the oak is barely noticeable. This full-bodied wine is creamy on the mid-palate and then firmly tannic on the long finish, so give it some time in the cellar before popping a cork.
Excellent label, neck, excellent capsule, bottled at the Château, 0.75 L bottles.
