MEISSEN – BLUE ONION (ZWIEBELMUSTER) – 70-PIECE TABLE SERVICE FOR 12

Offered is an extensive 70-piece Meissen porcelain table service for 12 people, decorated in the iconic Blue Onion (Zwiebelmuster) pattern in cobalt blue and white.

The service was manufactured by the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, Germany, and is estimated to date from approximately 1900–1930 (early 20th century). The Blue Onion decoration is one of Meissen's most recognisable patterns. Its botanical decoration is inspired by East Asian porcelain traditions and incorporates stylised pomegranate, peach, bamboo and floral motifs.

The service is made of hard-paste porcelain (true porcelain) and features the characteristic blue-on-white decoration throughout. The pieces bear Meissen crossed-swords marks, as visible in the photographs.
