Bang & Olufsen Jacob Jensen - Beocenter 9000 Type 2501 – CD/Cassette/Radio HiFi System Stereo set

For sale is a Bang & Olufsen Beocenter 9000, one of the most iconic hi-fi systems from the Danish manufacturer and an outstanding example of 1980s B&O design.

The Beocenter combines radio, CD player, cassette deck and amplifier in an exceptionally slim housing of brushed aluminum and black glass. Particularly characteristic is the touch-sensitive control surface with red and green illuminated indicators. Even today the design looks remarkably modern.

The device offered here is Type 2501, serial number 06279289, software version 2.3. The serial number and the connections are documented in the photos.
The Beocenter has been tested by me. Radio, CD player, amplifier, indicators and control functions work. The CD player reads and plays CDs. The electronically controlled covers and controls also operate. I could not test the cassette deck because I don’t have a cassette available. Additionally, the cassette section sometimes makes odd noises when switching to Tape. Therefore no assessment of the cassette part is expressly provided.

In appearance, the device is in decent used original condition for its age. On glass, aluminum, and plastic surfaces there are signs of aging and usage, dust, and minor scratches. I have deliberately included numerous close-up photos so that the condition can be judged as transparently as possible.

On the back are, among other connections, phono, Tape 2, AUX, Beolink, Pre-Amp Out, and two speaker pairs. This makes the Beocenter still very versatile to use today.

The Beocenter 9000 is not only a complete hi-fi system but also a piece of Danish design and technology history – interesting for B&O enthusiasts, collectors, and friends of classic hi-fi equipment.

Includes: Bang & Olufsen Beocenter 9000 as shown and a remote control.

Due to the age and sensitivity of the device, packaging for shipping will be especially careful.
Condition note: Used device from the 1980s. The functions listed above were tested and work at the time of testing. The cassette deck is untested, but I suspect it may not function.
