Christofle is a French silversmith and tableware company, founded in Paris in 1830 by Charles Christofle.
The company is known for having introduced electroplated gold and silver in France in 1842. The firm was acquired in 2012 by one of its shareholders, the luxury group of the Chalhoub family.
The House of Christofle calls upon workmanship that is entirely handmade using traditional techniques. The precious arts of turning-punching, planing, chasing, and engraving, perpetuated by its Master Silversmiths and Best Workers of France, immortalize the elegance and excellence of all Christofle pieces. It is this irreplaceable human know-how, transmitted from master to apprentice by highly skilled artisans, that constitutes Christofle's living heritage. True “Living Treasures.”
