This DAC smooths out the Sonos presentation. I guess what people would say is “more musical,” although the built-in Sonos Connect DAC is not bad. Why use this one instead of any other DAC on the market? It’s not just the cosmetics, although it is clearly made for the Connect. For me, it’s that you don’t have to worry about turning it on and off. Basically, once it’s attached, you keep using your Connect just like you always would. The DAC sleeps when not in use, and turns on when the Connect does.
