Spectacular fossil plant from the horse-tails class. The preparation of the specimen was very laborious, preserving the finest details of the plant.

Asterophyllites equisetiformis has a cylindrical stem, with a variable number of whorls that appear increasingly closer together as you approach the apex of the stem. Each whorl has lanceolate leaves, with a conspicuous central vein, 10-25 mm long, slightly wider than the stem, and they are inserted at a slight angle, with the bases fused, forming an elliptical nodal area.
