Antique miniature cabinet in solid red fir with hand‑carved faux bamboo detailing, French origin, dating to circa 1850–1900, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Antique Miniature Cabinet in Bamboo Faux- imitation in Finto Bambù – France, Early 1900s (Eclectic / Umbertine / 19th Century).
Splendid and elegant antique miniature cabinet (doll wardrobe / apothecary cabinet), authentic French craftsmanship dating to the early decades of the 20th century (1900–1920 period).
The piece is entirely made of solid wood, hand-finished with the bamboo-faux technique, a refined exotic style very popular in French cabinetmaking of the era.
The cabinet features a central door with an original inset and beveled mirror, a practical lower drawer, and an internal wooden shelf.
The hanging handles (both for the drawer and the door) are original to the period, finely worked in patinated bronze, in repoussé with baroque motifs. The original internal flush lock is also present.
The back of the door preserves its characteristic original protective lining in red pressed cardboard from the era and bears a pencil-impressed inventory or factory number on the wood.
The item presents in good structural and conservational condition. It shows a beautiful patina of time that certifies its authenticity. There are light and normal signs of superficial wear on the top part (small contact scratches) which do not compromise its charm, but rather enrich its historical character.
Perfect as a jewelry box, small display piece for a collection, retro bathroom cabinet, or as a statement piece for an eclectic and classy interior; a true rarity for display.
Photos are to be considered an integral part of the description; shipping will be quick and insured for the full value. We do not ship outside Europe.
