The 2012 vintage is special for Gaja: the three cru Sorì Tildìn, Sorì San Lorenzo, and Costa Russi were not bottled separately. The grapes from the three vineyards were instead united in Barbaresco Gaja 2012, effectively creating a kind of super-cuvee.

The 2012 vintage also contains fruit from the three vineyards normally destined for Costa Russi, Sorì Tildìn, Sorì San Lorenzo, which would normally be allocated to their respective labels.
It is an anomalous vintage and hardly replicable in Gaja's production history.

Il 2012 è un'annata particolare per Gaja: non furono imbottigliati separatamente i tre cru Sorì Tildìn, Sorì San Lorenzo e Costa Russi. Le uve provenienti dai tre vigneti furono invece riunite nel Barbaresco Gaja 2012, creando di fatto una sorta di super-cuvée.
