Antique German steel security cash box dating from circa 1930 with the D.R.P. angem. patent marking, weighing about 5 kg, dimensions 25 × 19 × 12 cm, featuring an electrical alarm mechanism and two original keys.
Description from the seller
A rare and intriguing antique German security cash box, dating from circa 1930, featuring the original “D.R.P. angem.” marking. This stands for “Deutsches Reichs-Patent angemeldet”, indicating that a German Reich patent had been applied for in connection with the mechanism.
Constructed from heavy-gauge steel, this is a substantial and robust security box weighing approximately 5 kg despite its compact dimensions. It features a contrasting red-painted interior, light grey exterior, sturdy carrying handle and an unusual original working locking mechanism.
Particularly interesting is the internal construction, with visible wiring and mechanical components forming part of the original electrical security/alarm system. The alarm system has not been tested, so its current working condition is unknown. The original 4.5 V De Witte Kat battery belonging to this system is preserved with the box, providing an especially interesting insight into its original operation. The box also retains two original keys.
The exterior and interior show visible age-related wear, paint loss, scratches and attractive original patina, consistent with its age and former use. Please study the photographs carefully.
Dimensions: 25 × 19 × 12 cm
Weight: approx. 5 kg
An unusual collector’s piece combining early security technology, patent engineering and heavy industrial construction, with strong historical and decorative appeal.
Professionally packed and shipped with care.
