Three bottles of 0.75 L each of Domaine Gallety Cuvée Gallety Côtes du Vivarais 2022 from Ardèche, France (vintage 2022).
Description from the seller
This 2022 Côte du Vivarais from Domaine Gallety perfectly illustrates the potential of the Côte du Vivarais appellation, south of the Rhône Valley. It is a wine that is both structured and accessible, combining character and pleasure.
It is made from a classic blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache, from vines aged between 40 and 45 years old. The grapes are harvested manually, with particular attention paid to quality and respect for the terroir. The vinification process includes 21 days of maceration in vats to extract color and aromas, followed by 14 to 15 months of aging in oak barrels, which adds complexity and structure without masking the fruit.
In the glass, the color is purple with violet highlights, deep and brilliant. The nose opens with intense aromas of black fruits, particularly blackberry, accompanied by a slight spicy touch. On the palate, the wine is smooth, balanced, and elegant, with good body and well-integrated tannins. Overall, it is very pleasant to drink, with a persistent and harmonious finish.
It is recommended to open it a good hour before serving to allow it to reveal its full aromatic richness. Its aging potential is estimated at between 8 and 10 years, which will allow it to gain even more complexity over time.
In terms of food pairings, it will go perfectly with a barbecue, a rib of beef with coarse salt, tapas, or even a venison terrine.
