Description from the seller
Rare Lung Ch’uan celadon plate
A very rarely seen celadon Lung Ch’uan green-ware plate/bowl from the Chekiang province, a very famous stoneware, with a beautiful blue-green tactile glaze. Elaborated during the Northern Song Dynasty to resemble green jade. The green glaze covers a simple decoration and stops short of the foot rim. This is a heavy piece of stoneware; it has two bumps on the inside from production, and on the foot rim a couple of small nipples. This is not a moulded piece but wheel-thrown by the potter, in a very fine-grained reddish stoneware body. This piece could be from the early Ming, or earlier. D: 29 cm. Height: 9 cm. Weight: 1.5 Kg.
D: 29 cm. Altura: 9 cm. Peso: 1,5 Kg.
