Description from the seller
Large Barnacle Colony on Clear Display Stand – Sculptural Marine Specimen
A striking natural barnacle colony distinguished by its dense clustered growth and strong sculptural presence.
The specimen is composed of numerous large barnacles fused together into an irregular three-dimensional formation. Each individual shell shows pronounced vertical ribbing and a wide angular opening, creating a complex composition of repeating forms, cavities and overlapping structures.
The coloration is particularly attractive, with natural tones ranging from pale pink and soft mauve to violet, burgundy and chalky white. The interior of the openings reveals deeper reddish and rose tones that add further contrast and depth to the colony.
Some areas show natural breaks, wear and irregularities consistent with the fragile structure of authentic marine barnacle colonies. These features are clearly visible in the photographs and contribute to the natural character of the specimen.
The colony is presented on a clear display stand, allowing the complex form to be appreciated from multiple angles.
Dimensions of the barnacle colony: 22 × 14.5 × 12.5 cm
An impressive marine natural history specimen, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, collector’s display or sophisticated interior decoration.
