Description from the seller
First edition of Ken Light’s photographic study of migration along the California–Mexico border. Between 1983 and 1987, Light accompanied US Border Patrol agents at night in the Otay Mesa region, photographing migrants encountered while crossing the border. The resulting black-and-white photographs combine direct flash with the surrounding darkness, producing an unusually immediate record of the people caught in these encounters.
The photographs are accompanied by a first-person text by José Ángel Navejas, presented bilingually in English and Spanish. The volume contains 136 pages and 66 photographic plates.
ISBN 978-1-942953-43-2
Condition is good to very good overall. The binding is sound and the interior appears clean and well preserved. The front board shows several visible surface scratches and light handling marks, with additional minor wear to the corners and edges. A small spot is also visible on the page edge. No structural damage is apparent. Please refer closely to the photographs.
