Tancred, Regent (1101-1112 AD).
Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 3.5 g).
Obv: ΚЄ ΒΟΗΘΗ ΤΩ ΔΟΥΛΩ ΤΑΝΚΡΙ. "Lord, help your servant Tancred". Bust of Tancred wearing turban and holding sword in right hand.
Rev: Cross pommée, fleuronée at base; in angles, IC - XC / NI-KA ("Jesus Christ is victorious").

Tancred served as regent of the Principality of Antioch while Bohemond I was absent or captive, becoming one of the strongest Latin leaders in the northern Crusader states. He expanded Antioch’s territory at the expense of Byzantine and Muslim neighbors, strengthened control over Cilicia and northern Syria, and also governed Edessa for a time. His rule helped secure Antioch’s survival during the fragile first generation after the First Crusade.
