Up for auction is a splendid, iconic and revolutionary underwater camera for Super 8 film format: the Eumig Nautica, produced in Austria by the renowned Eumig in Vienna starting in 1979.
The lot presents excellent overall condition and is fully functional, complete with its orange sport viewfinder, the rare additional PMA optical ring, the original cap, and a vintage Kodachrome reel cartridge for exposure.
Optics: The camera mounts the extraordinary original fixed lens Eumig Panorama-Vienna 1:1.9 / 9-30 mm, Multicoated for high brightness. The lens elements are in excellent preserved condition, clean, transparent and completely free of scratches or traces of internal mold and fungi.
Mechanical and Electrical: The lot has been tested and is functioning. The internal electric motor for film transport runs smoothly.
