Description from the seller

This Art Deco liqueur or strong spirits decanter is an iconic production from the famous Belgian crystal manufactory Val Saint Lambert, corresponding to the historical model named Esneux. The piece features a highly architectural and sleek conical silhouette, characteristic of the thirties creations, narrowing fluidly from a wide and stable base up to a tight neck topped by a molded ring. The lower third of the body exhibits significant geometric cut glass work consisting of several stacked registers of diamond points and triangular facets that intensely catch the light, while the upper section remains completely smooth to emphasize the crystal’s transparency. The set is completed by its original spherical stopper, decorated with facets cut in harmony with the patterns on the base and fitted with a perfectly matched emery ground plug.
The item measures a total height of 25 cm with its stopper and a base diameter of 12.5 cm for a total weight of 850 g. In keeping with the vast majority of pieces from standard catalogs or tableware services of this period from the crystal works, this decanter bears no visible signature or maker’s mark engraved in the glass body. The overall condition is very good, as the crystal shows no major chips, cracks, or flea bites on either the main body or the original stopper. There is simply some superficial dirt visible on the inner walls of the decanter, which requires a simple standard household cleaning to restore its original clarity and brilliance.
