Description

Interesting lot consisting of three decorative Italian figurative sculptures from the second half of the 20th century, characterized by detailed modeling, polychrome decoration, and subjects with a classical and romantic taste.

The lot includes a large and scenographic composition attributed to Giuseppe Armani, depicting a young woman seated on a swing, and two sculptures signed A. Belcari, attributable to DEAR Studio, depicting respectively a young woman with a harp and a lady accompanied by a greyhound.

1. Giuseppe Armani – Lady on Swing with Dove

Large figurative composition depicting a young woman seated on a swing, with a dove on her hand, set within a complex arboreal structure decorated with leaves and ornamental motifs.

The work is marked “1985 FLORENCE” and shows Capodimonte mark and a plaque “G. Armani” on the base.

The polychrome decoration is particularly rich, with delicate ivory, pink, and lilac tones of the dress and numerous ornamental details.

At the base of the lateral column there is also a characteristic monster with a lion’s head.

2. Auro Belcari – Girl with Harp

Elegant sculpture depicting a young woman seated while playing the harp.

The figure wears a dress in delicate pastel green tones, with painted decorative details and polychrome finishes, mounted on a distinctive turned wooden base.

The work bears the inscription “A. Belcari” and an identifying plaque attached to the base.

3. Auro Belcari – Lady with Greyhound

The sculpture is signed “A. Belcari” at the base. The subject is documented on the international market as A. Belcari / DEAR “Lady with Dog,” with similar pieces dating to the late 1980s.
