Art series: “Icons in Dreamspace”
This series brings together comic book heroes, pop culture icons, and cinematic figures within surreal and dreamlike environments. Familiar personalities and archetypes are reinvented in unexpected contexts, placed in imaginative spaces where reality and fantasy mingle.
A defining feature is the use of strong geometric motifs — especially stripes, spirals, and checkerboard patterns — which act as visual anchor points and create a hypnotic sense of movement. These graphic structures contrast with the finely detailed figures, generating a tension between order and disorientation.
The works sit at the intersection of pop culture, comic aesthetics, and classical illustration. They explore themes of identity, memory, and perception by staging well-known icons in unfamiliar environments, sometimes dystopian or poetic.
Emma Wildfang is a young Pop-Art street artist. Her works are in collections around the world. She has managed to create a very special vintage style. After attending the master class, the artist has been self-taught since 2002. Her ongoing quest for new techniques and means of expression has made it almost imperative for her to also address spatial structures as a sculptor. Due to her activity and the instability of her creative process, she lives up to her nickname Wildfang. However, in all her works, Wildfang does not seek a perfectly idealized, symmetrically designed piece, but finds beauty in imperfection, in detail, and in the enigmatic. Her working method is to seek perfection in imperfection.
