Porsche 917K assembly kit - Gulf Edition, driven by British legend Derek Bell and Swiss Jo Siffert at the 1971 Monza 1000 KM.
One of the fastest cars of all time, surpassed only by a change in the championship rules.
In 1970 the motorsport rules dictated that prototype cars had to be under 3 liters unless they built more than 25. Porsche agreed and built 25 prototypes of the 917K with engines of 4.5 to 5 liters.
For two seasons, it won race after race in the world championship, including Le Mans in 1970 and 1971. After this, their speed was dubbed “too fast,” thus ejecting high-displacement race cars from endurance racing. From there, they turned their attention to the USA.
In the 1971 Monza 1000 KM it finished in second place behind its Porsche 917K brother.
This amazing Pocher model features metal body parts, rubber tires and decals as well as assembly instructions.
The finished model measures an incredible 522 mm long, with a width of 267 mm. Undoubtedly the star of any collection.
