19th‑century walnut burr desk in solid wood with fall‑front and inlaid flame veneer, dating to circa 1830–1840, dimensions 101×93×52 cm, made in Italy.
Description from the seller
This bonheur du jour writing desk from the Carlo X / Louis-Philippe period (second quarter of the 19th century, around 1830-1840) is made of burr walnut with elegant flame-figured veneers and a lift-top with small drawers, supported by turned and fluted legs. The writing surface featured a leather inlay, currently missing.
Dimensions: 101x93x52 cm
Regarding condition, the piece is generally in good preservation but shows evident signs of age and use: the writing surface exhibits stains and wear to the finish, while on the front there are light scratches, small chips to the veneer on the edges, and patina variations in the wood consistent with the period.
Please examine the photographs carefully as they are an integral part of the description. Tracked shipping including secure packaging, any duties and customs taxes will be the buyer's responsibility.
**Pickup preferred, we are about 1 hour from Milan; given the size of the item, it is always possible to obtain a shipping quote.**
