Candleholder - Brass - Church candlestick, Art Deco - 57 cm

Beautiful large candelabrum also known as a penholder candlestick or church candlestick, traditionally used in churches to securely display large altar candles. Art Deco style from the 1920s-1940s. France

Features of this object:
• Material: Made of glossy brass (yellow brass), complemented by subtle red brass details at the wax catcher and the base.
• Design: The candlestick has a classic, stacked profile consisting of a wide, weighted rounded foot, a smooth vertical shaft interrupted by a round decorative knob in the middle, and a deep wax catcher at the top.
• Mounting: At the top is a sharp metal candle pin (pricket). Large, thick church candles have a pre-drilled hole at the bottom that presses firmly over this pin so they cannot fall over.

Dimensions: 57 cm high and 22 cm wide.
