Description from the seller
Title: Rare Antique Käthe Kruse Doll (Model I) – Signed and Numbered (0781)
I am auctioning a extremely rare and authentic Käthe Kruse antique doll, dating from the early decades of the 20th century (probably Model I).
The item is of great collectible interest as it preserves the original factory marks certifying its authenticity and period:
On the sole of the left foot there is a red ink signature "Käthe Kruse".
Just below the signature is clearly stamped the serial number 0781 (or 0784).
The foot features the classic toes separated by seams, a structural detail typical and highly sought-after of Kruse's very early productions.
Condition:
The doll appears in its original found condition, with no amateur or modern restoration work.
The cloth body is solid, intact, and well preserved for its age.
The face painted on pressed cloth shows evident signs of age: there are natural pigment losses and localized craquelure mainly on the forehead, the tip of the nose, and the left cheek. The expression and eye details remain very vivid, however.
Comes with period clothing (floral cotton dress).
A piece of great historical significance for Käthe Kruse collectors, offered without reserve. Please carefully note the attached photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
