Original bronze cross, titled '1936. Guerra Civil Española. General Franco. Cruz para quienes dieron su oro.', from Spain, in good condition, official authenticity, without a certificate of authenticity.

1936, Spain, Spanish Civil War General Franco.
- Cross for those who surrendered their gold. Ribbon (somewhat worn from use), with the emblem of the Falange Española (the party that supported Franco during the war and the only one allowed during his dictatorship). Bronze Palma de Mallorca medal, awarded to those who collaborated with Franco's nationalist cause during the uprising on the island of Mallorca, by offering money or jewelry. Similar to the "Gold gab ich für Eisen" (I gave gold for iron) of Imperial Germany during World War I. Obverse: "Amo España 19 VII 1936" (date of the uprising in Mallorca), reverse: the Latin motto, "PRO ARIS ET FOCIS" (for altars and homes). 50x50 mm. Good condition. The first news about this Cross appeared in the Palma newspapers on Monday, August 17, 1936, "A CRUSADE. A SMALL SACRIFICE FOR THE NATION." Before the crosses were handed out, they were blessed by the Bishop of Mallorca in the main chapel of the Cathedral.
They will be sent well protected and insured.
The insurance amount is included in the shipping costs.
