Rare anthropomorphic Lobala statue - Early 20th century - DR Congo

- Origin: Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Name of the tribe: LOBALA or BONDJO
- Material: Wrought iron - Brass
- Dimensions (mm): 535x117x160
- Weight (grams): 553
- Shipping method: Chronopost + Insurance

Very rare anthropomorphic statue from the Lobala case. In perfect condition. Cleaned by me with electrolysis. A process that does not affect the metal but frees it from all oxidation. It should be noted that African ethnic groups understood the influence of humidity on iron and, indeed, protected their objects with animal fat.

IMPORTANT FOR U.S. BIDDERS
- Due to the significant restrictions imposed by U.S. Customs on imports (high customs fees for both the sender and the recipient, as well as extensive administrative paperwork), I regret to inform potential bidders from the United States that I will no longer be able to ship items purchased at auction to them.
Thank you to our American friends for refraining from bidding on my items until relations between our governments return to normal.
