Renato Zevi - Trolley - Chrome, Metal, Brass, Smoked Glass - still with ZEVI label

RARE RENATO ZEVI ITALIAN BAR CART IN CHROME-PLATED METAL, BRASS AND SMOKED GLASS – ITALY, 1970s

Refined and rare original Renato Zevi bar cart, manufactured in Italy during the 1970s and an authentic expression of sophisticated Italian Hollywood Regency glamour.

The cart is distinguished by its rigorous architectural construction and the elegant combination of materials characteristic of the most desirable Italian furniture produced during this period.

Its structure features an elaborate double metal frame: the outer profiles are made of chrome-plated metal, while the inner brass or gilt-metal framework creates a refined chromatic contrast, giving the piece luminosity, depth and a strong decorative presence.

The composition is completed by two original smoked-glass shelves, a particularly elegant and less common feature than the transparent-glass versions. The dark tone of the glass enhances the sophisticated character of the cart and emphasizes the interplay between the chrome-plated and gilt surfaces.

Mounted on four wheels, the cart was conceived for use as a bar trolley, serving table or decorative lounge piece. It can accommodate bottles, glassware, cocktail accessories, books or collectible objects while retaining a strong sculptural identity.

Its identification is confirmed by the rare original Zevi label, which is still attached to the structure and documented in the photographs. The period advertisement reproduced in the final images of the listing also provides an important historical and documentary reference to the company’s coordinated furniture production.

The presence of the original label—frequently missing from examples currently available on the market—and the two smoked-glass shelves make this cart particularly appealing to collectors, galleries and enthusiasts of twentieth-century Italian design.

A highly decorative furnishing piece, ideal for modernist interiors, Hollywood Regency settings, boutiques, showrooms, galleries or contemporary residences seeking an accent of authentic vintage Italian design.
