Description from the seller
Lot consisting of 2 original plates created for the comic magazine “Attualità Nera” no. 12, 1989.
Work attributed to Jacques Géron, Belgian cartoonist and illustrator also known for his work in Franco-Belgian comics.
The two plates are made entirely by hand in India ink on thick paper.
Year: 1989
Series: Attualità Nera no. 12
Number of plates: 2
Technique: india ink on paper
Dimensions: about 18 × 26 cm each
These are original plates used for editorial production and not prints or reproductions.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow you to assess accurately their condition and characteristics.
The plates will be shipped carefully protected with rigid packaging.
One thing though: in the original text there is “par Vincey H.”, while the lot is listed as Jacques Géron. Before sending it I want to clarify this point: if the plates bear a signature “Vincey H.”, I would not declare Géron as the author without proof of attribution. Send me a photo of the two plates front/back and we’ll resolve it.
For the appraisal, for now I’d keep €100, without reserve. Medium package, not small: with plates 18 × 26 and protective rigid cardboard we are too close to the 26 cm limit of the small package.
