Antique walnut and burlwood sideboard in Umbertine and Neorinascimental design, dated 1850–1900, with a solid base, two upper drawers and two lower panelled doors, lockable, measurements 130 cm wide, 52 cm deep and 190 cm high, in good condition with age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Important Italian sideboard from the Umbertine era, probably dating to the end of the 19th century, made of walnut wood and walnut burl.
The piece consists of a solid base with two wide drawers in the upper section and two paneled doors in the lower part, enriched by burl panels with the characteristic lively grain. The front is enhanced by ebony frames and decorative profiles that enhance the composition.
The upper section presents a scenographic two-shelf display, characterized by substantial carved elements with volutes, vegetal motifs and foliate decorations. The large upper cornice, richly carved, constitutes the main decorative element of the furniture.
The construction, proportions and decorative apparatus are typical of Italian production in the Umbertine and Neo-Renaissance taste of the late nineteenth century.
The sideboard appears in good overall condition for its age, with normal signs of wear and use, including scratches, abrasions, small polishing defects and finish variations, visible in the photographs. There are also some marks and imperfections compatible with the age of the piece.
No marks or labels of the manufacturer are visible.
An important and scenographic piece of furniture, characterized by the beautiful walnut burl and the rich carved raised top, ideal for classic, period or eclectic environments.
