Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Natural jadeite jade pendant with a hand-carved landscape scene, NGTC Type A certified, from China, weight 35.43 g, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
A substantial hand-carved jadeite jade pendant, certified by NGTC as natural Type A jadeite, meaning it is untreated: no bleaching, no polymer impregnation and no dyeing.
The front shows a finely detailed landscape scene in high relief. Layered rocks and mountain forms rise up the plaque, alongside leafy trees, pavilion rooftops and a small animal figure near the base. Pierced openwork runs through the foliage and rockwork, which gives the composition depth and lets light pass through the stone. The reverse is smooth, with a gentle low-relief band of scrolling clouds and waves. This leaves an open field where the natural colour and texture of the jadeite can be appreciated.
The stone is a soft light green, as stated on the certificate. It is enlivened by brighter green patches and veining that drift across both faces and are clearly visible along the edge. The tapered plaque shape, softly rounded corners and gently curved base give the piece a classic, balanced silhouette.
With a pleasing weight in the hand and a generous size, this is a statement pendant to wear on its own. It also suits a collector of Chinese hardstone carving.
