Description from the seller
Splendid and very rare complete set of two luxury works published in 1951, documenting the mythical Belgian automobile expeditions across Africa.
These raids were led by the D'Ieteren family (famous Belgian importers) to test the robustness of the very first Volkswagens of the era (Split Beetle and Combi van).
These copies correspond to luxury editions on large paper (vellum), recognizable by their elegant publisher’s red cloth binding. They are non-numbered, so-called "presentation" or off-commercial copies, offered at the time to close associates of the family and the network.
A prestigious and inseparable duo for any discerning VW collector.
