Description from the seller
A piece of Jaguar history.
Official/genuine factory drawing of the Jaguar XK120, corresponding to the model's unveiling in 1948.
The XK120 was publicly unveiled at the London Motor Show of that same year, creating enormous anticipation for its design and its extraordinary performance.
The Jaguar XK120 marked a turning point in the history of the British brand. Equipped with the new inline six-cylinder XK engine of 3.4 liters, it reached approximately 120 mph (193 km/h), an exceptional figure for the era and the origin of its name “XK120”.
Its elegant, fluid-line body and its combination of luxury and performance quickly made it one of the most emblematic British sports cars of the postwar era. In addition to its competition successes, the XK120 laid the technical and stylistic foundations for the subsequent XK140 and XK150 and, ultimately, for the legendary Jaguar E-Type.
Produced between 1948 and 1954, the Jaguar XK120 remains today a highly valued piece by collectors and one of the most important models in Jaguar's history.
