Category Catawiki
Collectible knives – Italian regional knives – Puglia
Description
Elegant and authentic traditional Puglian knife "Il Martinese", crafted by the historic Fraraccio cutlery in Frosolone in the early 2000s, inspired by one of the most representative models of the popular tradition of Martina Franca, in the heart of the Valle d'Itria.
For decades this model accompanied the daily life of Puglian families. Always present in the pockets of peasants, breeders, artisans and workers, it was used for a wide range of daily tasks, from field work to convivial moments shared at the table. A true symbol of Puglian rural culture.
This specimen is characterized by a refined handle in natural gray bovine horn, with elegant grain patterns that make each knife unique. The satin blade is made of 420 INOX steel, a material appreciated for robustness, reliability and resistance to oxidation.
The presence of the terminal ring is a further nod to traditional knives of Southern Italy, giving the model an authentic and timeless charm.
A knife that encapsulates the history and traditions of Puglia, reinterpreted by the artisanal mastery of Fraraccio.
