Description from the seller
Beautiful vintage weather station in a Sputnik/Space Age style, made in West Germany by the Huger brand
Designed mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, this iconic device adopts the shape of a globe or a satellite with its small spikes reminiscent of the antennas on the famous space capsule. This particular model is notable for being a hanging version with a brass wall-mount.
The transparent plexiglass sphere houses three distinct mechanical instruments for measuring the atmosphere:
• The hygrometer (top dial): It measures the relative humidity of the surrounding air (indicated by the label "Relative Hygro" and the comfort zone "Normal").
• The thermometer (center, often in a ring): It displays the ambient temperature.
• The barometer (bottom): It indicates the atmospheric pressure to help anticipate weather changes.
There are unfortunately some signs of wear, rust, and dirt
A small crack at the mounting is barely visible
The instruments operate normally
