David Nebreda - Autoportraits - 2000

David Nebreda: Self-portraits.
Text and illustrations by David Nebreda.

Editions Leo Scheer, Paris, French, 2000. Published in France. 208 pages, numerous color illustrations, 25x25 cm

This book of disturbing images and, at times, frightening ones gathers Nebreda's self-portraits made at the height of his struggle against several debilitating health problems. Each image has a classical composition and a theatrical air that seems to transcend the despair stamped on the artist's face.
The dust jacket shows a small mark of wear, as can be seen in the photos of the item.
