Ziegler: These rugs are made in Afghanistan according to traditions established in the Arak region in Iran. The British company Ziegler launched production of rugs there to suit European tastes in the 1870s. The motifs are often copied from Persian carpets. The wool is of very good quality and dyed with natural vegetable dyes
