The Regula Super is a 35 mm rangefinder camera with interchangeable lenses and an integrated light meter. It was developed in 1959 by King for the Regula series. It features the bayonet mount typical of King rangefinders. Various lenses from manufacturers such as Enna, Steinheil and Isco with focal lengths from 28 mm to 135 mm were offered for the camera. A list of available lenses can be found on the page “King Regula rangefinder camera lenses.” All lenses have a 45 mm filter thread.

Compared to the predecessor Regula IIId, the viewfinder has been improved and features bright reference lines for 50 mm, 90 mm, and 135 mm lenses, which can be selected with a switch on the top. The reference line for the 50 mm lens is always visible. For lenses with focal lengths under 50 mm, an additional viewfinder is required.

The Bewi light meter is easier to use and read than the older Gossen light meters. After setting the film ISO, point the camera at your subject. The camera automatically reads the ISO. Turn the metal ring on the light meter adjustment wheel until the red pointer aligns with the white pointer. Using the red numbers on the adjustment wheel, set the correct exposure and shutter speed. Once this is done, the exposure is set and can be adjusted within a certain shutter speed/aperture range. This allows you to adjust the depth of field without affecting the image exposure.
