A single Val Saint Lambert crystal overlay liqueur decanter, 25 cm high with a 4 cm neck diameter and a 7.5 cm base diameter, weighing 300 g, in good used condition with minor aging traces and missing its stopper.
Description from the seller
This slender pyramid-shaped liqueur decanter is a cut double crystal piece attributed to the famous Belgian crystal manufactory Val Saint Lambert, based on a historic model originally created at the beginning of the twentieth century and reproduced in the manufacturer's catalogs around 1908. The piece is made using the complex overlay crystal technique, combining an inner layer of clear transparent crystal and an outer colored layer in a superb amethyst or bishop-purple hue. The rich cut decoration is structured on the lower part of the body through deeply cut geometric patterns, highlighting large stars or radiating suns that alternate with finely cross-hatched lattice forming a diamond network. The long conical neck is, for its part, structured by vertical flat ribs that catch and reflect light in a straight manner. The circular base presents a reverse side entirely cut with a radiating rosette of regular points that extends over the entire surface of the foot. The object bears no acid-etched signature under its base, which remains common for productions of this era. The dimensions noted for this piece are 25 cm in height, 4 cm in diameter at the neck, and 7.5 cm in diameter at the base of the foot. The individual weight of the decanter is 500 g. Regarding its condition, the item is in good original overall condition without any exterior chips or structural cracks, the enamel and cut preserving a beautiful shine. Note that the piece is sold without its original stopper and it shows whitish limestone traces visible on the inner walls due to prior use.
