Alessi - ECAL - Marie Schenker - Container (2) - ''Filo'' - Adhesive tape dispenser in 18/10 stainless steel

This set of two Filo adhesive tape dispensers was designed by Marie Schenker for Alessi in 2012 and demonstrates how even the most ordinary everyday object can be transformed into a refined piece of design. The name Filo, meaning “wire” in Italian, directly reflects the concept behind the project: a simple stainless-steel wire bent into a flowing shape that becomes both a functional and sculptural tape dispenser.

The design is a perfect example of the philosophy for which Alessi is renowned: reducing an object to its essential elements without sacrificing personality. Using a minimum amount of material, Schenker created a surprisingly expressive form. A thin stainless-steel plate, discreetly welded inside the curved wire structure, provides grip and stability, resulting in an object that is simultaneously lightweight, elegant and highly functional.

Crafted from high-quality 18/10 stainless steel, the Filo stands out for its durability and timeless appearance.
