Description from the seller

This set of themed white-glazed earthenware table plates is a vintage French production from the Saint-Amand manufacture. This complete set consists of six cheese plates, each decorated with a different multicolor screen-printed illustration featuring traditional labels of famous French cheeses. The lot thus includes a Dupont d'Isigny Camembert plate made in Normandy with a decoration of cows grazing, a Le Père Thanase Pont l'Évêque plate adorned with a smiling peasant figure, a Société Roquefort plate sprinkled with small red sheep logos, a Fromage Pur Lait de Chèvre from the Grand'Ouche dairy in Reparsac plate showing a profiled goat head, a Bleu d'Auvergne Surchoix plate illustrated with a cow head in a medallion, and a Salut Port Salut Made in Mayenne plate centered with its characteristic cross. The rims of all the plates are embellished with a fine regular gadrooned or pleated relief. The set is presented in its original circular storage box made of light wood, imitating a large cheese box, screen-printed on its lid with the mention Fromages de France 100 % ceramic material. On the reverse, the pieces bear the Saint-Amand factory stamp. The dimensions of each individual plate are 2 cm in height with a diameter of 20.5 cm. The total weight of the complete service with its wooden box is 2 kg. Regarding its condition, all six plates are in excellent original overall condition without any chips, cracks or wear to the glazed decoration, which retains all its brilliance, while the wooden storage box shows normal signs of age and handling with some deformations or small losses on the light veneer.
