Description from the seller

Hand-painted earthenware wall tile with a colorful tulip inside a serrated diamond. The decoration is executed in blue, green and ochre-yellow on a whitish glaze ground, with blue corner ornaments.

Based on the decoration and execution the tile is presumably from the first half of the 17th century, circa 1620–1650. The exact production place is unknown.

Condition: signs of age and use, crazing, glaze loss and flaking along the edges and corners. On the back there are mortar residues. Inspect the photos carefully; they form part of the description.

A decorative early flower tile for the collector of historical Dutch tiles.
