Scailmont - Candleholder (2) - Glass - Durover

Koppel Durover candlesticks in high-quality clear pressed glass manufactured by the Belgian Scailmont glass factory.
The candlesticks have a spirally twisted shaft that catches and refracts light from every angle. The goblet-shaped candle holders are inspired by classical columns, while the heavy ribbed base provides good stability.
Durover is a brand name for Belgian Art Deco glassware produced during the interwar period by the Verreries de Scailmont glass factory in Manage (Hainaut).
The Scailmont glassworks was known for 'half-crystal' and hard glass that was often designed in collaboration with designers such as Henri Heemskerk. Scailmont was, in that period, an important player alongside Val-Saint-Lambert.
