Description from the seller
Regency TR-1 transistor pocket radio, in Cloud Gray color, serial number 78336, dated to 1955. The Regency TR-1 is one of the most important models in the history of early transistor radios, introduced in 1954. The item comes with the original instruction/warranty booklet and the original cardboard box with its internal packing material, as visible in the photographs. The radio has been opened solely to photograph the interior, the components, and the serial number. It has not been tested or powered, since it uses a Regency No. 215 22.5 V battery which is no longer readily available. It is therefore offered as an untested collectible item, with no guarantee of operation. The radio shows normal signs of age and use, including scratches, halos, and surface wear. The booklet and the box also show stains, wear, and deterioration consistent with age. The interior, the original labels, and the serial number 78336 are documented in the photographs. The photographs are an integral part of the description.
