Napoléon III period jewelry box, rectangular marquetry wood with bone inlays, made in France circa 1900; dimensions 18 × 16 × 8 cm; in good used condition with minor signs of age and a slightly loose lock.

Jewelry box in marquetry, 19th century (c. 1850–1880, Napoléon III period).
Rectangular box in noble wood (possibly walnut or santos wood), with a lift-top lid. Radial geometric decoration on the top panel and linear moldings on the side faces, entirely executed in marquetry technique (inlays) with contrasting woods (ebony / tulipwood). At the center of the lid and in the corners of the structure, there are circular decorative inlays in bone. It sits on four feet cut as part of the structure. Front with a cutout escutcheon for the lock (no active key).
Normal signs of use and age. Slight wear to the wood patina, small flaws or fissures expected in marquetry, and absence of key. The lock is slightly loose.
